Same Deep Water Goodies & Ficlet Update

A while ago, the lovely b_akakame turned The Same Deep Water As You into an epub, incorporating the art we'd gotten and making it all shiny and fancy. It took us this long to post it first because we were idiots and then because it didn't really fit into the middle of posting 9 1/2 Weeks.

On the other hand, the long delay has its own Jinius timing, as we're currently working on the Same Deep Water ficlets we promised people back in mumblemumble... you know, back then. We're hoping to be ready to go with the first one in three to four weeks, and for nostalgic reasons we're going to be posting them on Thursdays. And we thought we'd give you guys a heads-up in case anyone wants to re-read beforehand -- consider yourselves notified! >_>

So, the epub. It should be okay as it is. But if the pics and list of contents don't display properly in your reader (we are talking about the Sony e-reader because that's what we have and know), do this:

- Put the file in Calibre (or whatever other software you use, presumably, and why on earth aren't you using Calibre??).

- click Convert > Individual file and select 'epub' in the box on the top left of the dialogue box. (Don't ask. Just do it.)




- say 'okay'

- send the file to your reader; THE END.

The reason for this is that in our experience, if you send it to the reader without converting, the pictures don't fit. If you convert it first, they fit. No, we don't know why. This may also be different for different devices.

We've also included a Kindle version, but it's basically the epub converted to mobi in Calibre, and we don't know what it's like, really, because we can't try it out. Any Kindle owners who give it a go, let us know?

We're really grateful to Anni for doing this and putting up with our delays and omg-last-minute-error-corrections.

What an amazing and totally appropriate idea since it is a novel really! :DDD KUDOS TO YOU ANNI!!! I won't be able to use it since I don't have a reader device but still, srsly genius idea!

I'm certainly not going to have the time to reread the entire thing again in only a month (it took two months last time I think, reading a chapter or two a day) but that's okay, I believe I remember enough to understand le ficlets! :DDD SO EXCIIIIIITED!!! So that's one thing to look forward to for summer, besides rereading the entire thing again. :) You guys are like my rays of sunshine with your sparkly writing and personalities. ;_;

O HAY this also provides opportunities for me to make SDW doodles!! :DD

I am currently re-reading SDW for the... 5th or 6th time...? XD It's nice to read on the bus or between classes.
I can't wait to see what their lives are like after the end of the story.

The art is gorgeous. Can never have too much of that. :D

YAY!!!! Big thanks to b_akakame! I have been thinking I should download the whole story so I can re-read it even if I don´t have internet connection.. or even print it (that would be expensive, but I don´t give a damn.. this fic is worth it!)
Now I can peacefully die go to vacation and enjoy my stay with this.

Also can´t wait for ficlets... feels like christmas come sooner! :D
