A while ago, the lovely b_akakame turned The Same Deep Water As You into an epub, incorporating the art we'd gotten and making it all shiny and fancy. It took us this long to post it first because we were idiots and then because it didn't really fit into the middle of posting 9 1/2 Weeks.

On the other hand, the long delay has its own Jinius timing, as we're currently working on the Same Deep Water ficlets we promised people back in mumblemumble... you know, back then. We're hoping to be ready to go with the first one in three to four weeks, and for nostalgic reasons we're going to be posting them on Thursdays. And we thought we'd give you guys a heads-up in case anyone wants to re-read beforehand -- consider yourselves notified! >_>

So, the epub. It should be okay as it is. But if the pics and list of contents don't display properly in your reader (we are talking about the Sony e-reader because that's what we have and know), do this:

- Put the file in Calibre (or whatever other software you use, presumably, and why on earth aren't you using Calibre??).

- click Convert > Individual file and select 'epub' in the box on the top left of the dialogue box. (Don't ask. Just do it.)

- say 'okay'

- send the file to your reader; THE END.

The reason for this is that in our experience, if you send it to the reader without converting, the pictures don't fit. If you convert it first, they fit. No, we don't know why. This may also be different for different devices.

We've also included a Kindle version, but it's basically the epub converted to mobi in Calibre, and we don't know what it's like, really, because we can't try it out. Any Kindle owners who give it a go, let us know?

This is not such a long how-the-sausage-was-made post as with Same Deep Water, but we still had a few things we wanted to share.

1) lieben_kame's Fanart

Lexy made illustrations of some pivotal scenes in #RedK and was kind enough to tweet them to the world. ( We love them, so we thought we'd share. :D )

2) Porn manuals

Every now and then, haikuesque runs into communication difficulties with regard to choreography. Usually of the 'his leg is where? it goes where?' variety. We have at times solved this problem by re-tracing the legs of a sex scene with pairs of jeans, making home videos of ourselves with a pillow, and occasionally, Art.

This one relates to Week 8 1/2, and was prompted by Jo going, 'how do they get to poking?' Solo is a maestra with a pen and thus produced explanatory Art. We are sharing because we thought it might amuse you.

( Do not look at this if it will forever ruin the sex in Week 8 1/2 for you. Seriously. )


3) Location, location, location

Since so much of the story takes place in Jin's apartment, we also needed a blueprint (well, a vague powerpoint representation) of that. Just so we knew what was close to where and how they could have sex without hurting each other or kicking through a wall and upsetting a neighbour. (And as for the shelf crowd, this may help you or not, we really don't know. You may be beyond help. :p)
