Date: 2011-05-26 12:55 pm (UTC)Poor Jin seems to be unpopular although he is so pretty :( I wonder how much he charges for a relaxation or a comfort. Is the rate the same for all escorts or are there "classes"?
Soooo... Jin plans to turn Kame down next time... I don't think (hope) he'll manage, that would be like a declaration of war.
It's nice to see that at least one person in the club seems to care about Jin and even cook him spaghetti. :)
And: I'm a bit surprised that I don't see Yamapi anywhere (or did I miss him?), will he show up in later chapters?
In the next chapter there will be some Jin-Kame interaction, right? Chooo tanoshimi!

Date: 2011-05-26 07:52 pm (UTC)Jin's pretty, but not good at making use of it. If he flirted more (or better), and showed some enthusiasm for his clients, he'd have an easier time.
There are two groups of escorts really, and one 'exception'. There's the standard escorts, of whom Jin is one. They cost a lot, simply because it's an expensive place. (And of course it also depends on what the clients want to do with them.) Then there are the 'luxury' escorts - Tatsuya, Junno (because he's a famous porn star), Jun, and Takuya. You get to be luxury by being very good indeed at what you do, and very much in demand. (Give it a couple of years and Yuuya will probably be luxury, too.) They cost 20% more, and also get a bigger cut of their earnings. And finally there's Hina, who is a proper dom and therefore highly specialised, and who is swimming in money. The escorts don't set the rates themselves, though, management does that. It would probably be not ~properly sophisticated~ if people started to haggle in the lounge. ;-)
About Jin... and Kame... hee, you'll find out soon. ;-)
Yamapi has already showed up, but he's belongs to Jin's private life, so you won't see him in the club chapters. We were actually a bit surprised ourselves when we realised how long the gap between his first appearance and his second appearance really was, but he will get more screen time after the first third of the story!

Date: 2011-05-26 03:38 pm (UTC)sorry I don't have more to say right now ; (
This makes me so depressed. I wonder if there will come at least some moments to make up for the heavyness of the story but I'm not expecting...not with the storyline.

Date: 2011-05-26 07:53 pm (UTC)Sorry about making you so depressed. :-/ Jin is depressed, too. Whoring is kind of a depressing job when you're not into it, and Jin... isn't. :-/
Having said that, we certainly plan to make up for all the angst later, but... this is only chapter 12 of 54. Trust us...?

Date: 2011-05-26 08:45 pm (UTC)oh well, it's complicated I guess *haha*Yeah, I'm depressed because Jin is and because his situation sucks so much for him and when I read I feel for him ;__;
I do trust you, don't worry...if you say you make up for it^^ I didn't expect it this early in the story, I certainly believe, it's rather getting worse~

Date: 2011-05-29 08:47 am (UTC)We will. We really will. They will have HAPPY LIVES. (We kept reassuring ourselves about that too, throughout the first half of this story. *g*)

You might be totally right there... >_>

Date: 2011-05-26 04:40 pm (UTC)This had me wondering whether Jin's always been awkward and clumsy and perhaps Kame wasn't just being mean and possessive that one time in the lounge with Ryo and Yamatani when he thought Jin was a hopeless wanderer and wanted to put him out of his misery. Or if this is post-Kame induced stress and nerves that's fucking with Jin's head. He doesn't seem the most natural at this, at least the flirting and courting bit, but it hurts to see it from his own perspective and think about it as his job, his means of earning a living, his last resort. When Jin likes people (in this case Maeda) it's with a genuine warmth and affection, and to see his job creep into even those relationships somehow cheapens or complicates the feelings. Aww, Jin.

Date: 2011-05-26 07:54 pm (UTC)LOL, nicely said. :-) And eeeeek!, Jin-kun. Brrrr.
Or if this is post-Kame induced stress and nerves that's fucking with Jin's head.
>_> ...might be?
He doesn't seem the most natural at this, at least the flirting and courting bit...
Well, we were working with canon-Jin here and figured that if he could, he'd be wearing hats and sunglasses all the time (and not wash his hair). He doesn't like being objectified. He's terrible at whoring himself out. :-) And, well, the clients notice and go with people where it all comes more easily and who pretend to have fun more convincingly.
What you said about Maeda pleased us. He is the one good thing that day, but in Jin's current situation, nothing is ever not complicated.

Date: 2011-05-26 08:45 pm (UTC)I really sympathize with him on this, and it shows he hasn't settled into the lifestyle yet because he has this whole portion of himself that he can't or won't share with people, but he does want someone to share it with. Someone like Yuuya would be comfortable flirting and sitting on laps and making small talk, but this Jin, he gets attached and really yearns for affection. At least, that's the deluded way I read it.
I don't know how you can make me really like both characters but then hate what they have together. No, hate is the wrong word.. haha, I'm anticipating more than hating, because I see SO MUCH POTENTIAL here.. I'm wondering which one is going to break the pattern first and go out of his comfort zone.

That's not deluded at all. Unless you assume that at this point he's yearning for it from Kamenashi... ;-)
I don't know how you can make me really like both characters but then hate what they have together.
LOL! Thank you. No, really. It would be very wrong somehow if people loved what they have together now. We are very pleased you like them both, though, and um, would ask you to keep that in mind, maybe.
And we love the comment about breaking the pattern, and about comfort zones... we love it a *lot*, for reasons we cannot elaborate on at this point, but omg you'll see when you get there.

Date: 2011-05-27 03:58 am (UTC)It really is quite interesting how Jin, who in my personal opinion is prettier than virtually any of the other guys there, does not seem to be particularly popular. Few people like him--including Kame, (if anyone actually believes his little bursts of denial.) Jin's very bad at faking it and entertaining clients, but then for Kame he doesn't seem to need any charm at all. Kame takes him anyway, even though he himself claims to dislike him, just to, I don't know, win in this little unspoken war between them. Although, who's really winning if they both dislike the situation. Ugh this fic is messing with my head @_@
I was expecting Kame to come in all internally upset and needing to unwind after his little press scare; next chapter maybe? I mean, we're getting somewhat into the almost middle-ish chapters and Akame interaction is important ne? I really cannot wait to see what plot you have in store for them. Even though we all know at least the basic direction this fic will take, (it is Akame after all,) this is one of the few fics where I have absolutely no idea how it will happen. You keep it very unpredictable.
Seeing Jin completely lose his senses after Sakurai merely mentioned the campaign he was involved in was really great. Just the thought of anything remotely related to Kame nearly has Jin in fits. When you think about it, Kame hasn't really been THAT bad to Jin. He's a jerk yeah, but Jin must have had clients who treat him less than politely from time to time. Kame has never physically hurt Jin, even though he has scared the crap out of him. Again, it must all relate to Jin's past. Kame hits a nerve other's haven't before.
The scene with Maeda was interesting. Poor Jin-kun did have a rough day. Maeda probably has a slightly bigger part later on I'm guessing.
Random side note: I've missed Ueda in these chapters lately. He's a very interesting character and I love seeing his interaction with Kame. Hope we'll be seeing him again some time soon.
Great job as always!

Date: 2011-05-29 08:32 am (UTC)Not just your personal opinion!
Simple fact!We agree he is the prettiest of them all, and yet... Especially in a place like a high-end club, prettiness alone doesn't do it, and we tend to assume that Jin just does not get a lot of return custom.Jin's very bad at faking it and entertaining clients
Yeah. >.<
Apologies for messing with your head. *g* (You wouldn't want to know what it's done to our heads at times...)
Yes, Akame interaction is important. :-) we can also promise that this has been the longest stretch of no-Akame-interaction in the entire stories. We will still have chapters with just one of them, but this, with four chapters in a row, was definitely the longest! (Thanks for hanging in there, it is very very appreciated. :-)
We're glad the Sakurai incident came across that well. You hit it right on.
When you think about it, Kame hasn't really been THAT bad to Jin. He's a jerk yeah, but Jin must have had clients who treat him less than politely from time to time.
Yes. To all of that.
As for the supporting cast you mentioned, we're so happy you like them. We can't guarantee everyone's parts will be equally meaty -- hey, sometimes the story surprised *us* in terms of who becomes important and starts hogging screen time! -- but we are very glad they're interesting and make one curious.
Thank you again for this wonderful feedback! ♥

Date: 2011-06-01 02:28 am (UTC)Very very glad that this is the longest stretch with no Akame interaction. Every time it's a chapter with just one of them it always feels... unbalanced I suppose. Unfinished.
You guys definitely make the supporting cast interesting. Honestly, in most fics, I'm skimming the 'other characters's dialogue and scenes simply because hey, they're not akame; I clicked this to read about them. But I am honestly really enjoying your other characters in this fic. It's both interesting and humorous.
I recently read many more of you guys' other fics, *coughacoupletimescough*, and you two are rapidly becoming one (two?) of my very very favourite authors. Since this one is completed do you have any other fics either in mind or written in draft? Just wondering. Can't wait to get more from you two. :]

Date: 2011-06-01 06:38 pm (UTC)We do have other stories in mind, and we are currently working on two. But it's slow going because we are still editing the chapters of this one as we go, too, and sometimes that takes up more time and energy than we anticipated... and obviously it's got to take priority, given the weekly posting.
But we do hope to have something else in a month or two...

LOL 'and the cook too' has been kind of a running joke around these parts, we admit. *g* Jin, rejected by EVERYONE AND THEIR COOK.
But he had a bad night. >.< Glad you enjoyed it. (Um, that sounds bad&wrong.) Thank you for commenting, we appreciate it. :-)

Date: 2011-05-27 06:13 am (UTC)What I find most interesting is how he turns down Sakurai.Simply because he might possibly be working with Kame. What are we going to do with the two Bakas. Kame doesn't visit the club since he's afraid of running into Jin and Jin doesn't want anything associated with Kame. Just Great! lol...
But its interesting how so far Jin has tried seducing some and even turn down others or rather walk away. Like he actually is capable of being selective. And yet before, he didn't turn down Kame even though he could. And this chapter, he sorts of keep reminding himself that he could. Its like there is this magnetic pool between Jin and Kame.(This we kind of know from previous chapters as well ya.)
Being selective however has a price for Jin right. He gets less pay and no clients.Poor Jin.
I must say though, everytime you mention Jin watching the door, I was expecting Kame to appear. lol... But then that would just cause Jin to fluster I think.
I like how you're building up the story though. All these details feels like you're justifying why and how Jin and Kame would come to be.Jin is now free to have an exclusive client right? I hope Kame finds that out and uses that to book Jin. lol...
Thanks for sharing!~ Shall await for more. ^^

Hee, yes, you have summed it up precisely. Poor boys. Something will have to give at some point, no doubt. :p
Jin's... not so much capable of being selective... well, okay, he is, but he really shouldn't be, because he can't afford to be. It's easier for the more successful escorts, it doesn't matter if they avoid one or two clients and it's not like they're slaves here. As long as they make their quota, say a comfort or a few relaxations a night, that's okay. So going with Eda saved Jin's quota for that night, he just really didn't want to go with him; but because he messed up with Sakurai and wasn't great with the others, he ended up feeling he had no choice.
Jin's actually trying to get clients but he's simply crap at it. :(
I must say though, everytime you mention Jin watching the door, I was expecting Kame to appear.
Ha ha, so was Jin. :-) Glad that worked, then.
Thank you for your kind words about the build-up. Though maybe we caused a bit of misunderstanding - Jin's not free for an exclusive client, he's more like... free for lots of clients if only somebody will have him. The bottom line is right, though: Jin really needs clients, any client at all. :(
We love your feedback, and thanks for hanging in there through the nonAkame chapters! (We know this has been quite a long while...) Thank you!

Date: 2011-06-02 12:00 pm (UTC)Maeda-san seems to be a good guy. He makes food for Jin and he doesn't force him into anything. But I thought how that's life (and life often sucks) that Jin always has to do these things for everyone, like paying with his body. Why can't someone be nice simply just because it's nice, without expecting something in return =/
He turned Jin down in the end right...? I wasn't sure whether I understood it right because you kept it vague. Does Jin go home after finishing his meal...?

Date: 2011-06-03 10:54 am (UTC)As for how it ended, yes, Maeda turns Jin down this time, figuring Jin's had enough of a night. Jin didn't go home, but but he stayed in the dorm at the club -- he likes to save cab fare and he actually likes the dorm, so he got some peace and quiet.
(no subject)
Date: 2011-06-03 01:09 pm (UTC)It's good Maeda's not taking too much advantage of their deal then. He's human.
I like it when Jin stays at the dorm because you wrote how safe he feels there so that's good :)
I'm so glad I can ask you girls stuff. I'm a slow reader and I tend to get confused (because I probably think too much and try to imagine everything right xD) so sometimes I need to ask :) Thanks for answering!
Btw... It's so sweet how Jin is so thankful for the Spaghettti. He's not spoiled at all <33

Date: 2011-06-04 02:53 pm (UTC)There's no restaurant in the building of Jin's apartment. :-) But the bar where he sings for fun and meets up with Tomo (Pi) is very close by, ca. 10 minutes' walk.
And we love to talk about this stuff, so please never hesitate to bring up questions and things! We only have to fudge sometimes for spoilers, but we looove talking to readers, really!
